Did you know that 55% of consumers use social media to learn about new brands? This means that if you’re an entrepreneur or business owner in the UAE and you’re looking to harness the power of social media to grow your operations then you’re going to want to ensure your social profiles are optimised.
One simple yet effective way to do that is to optimise your social media bios. Whether you’re using Instagram, Tik Tok, or even Twitter, using something like Linktree or one of the best Linktree alternatives to create a simple “link in bio” landing page can help you organise your offerings, business information, and more to help increase leads and sales.
Not sure what Linktree is or what your other options are when it comes to these types of platforms? We’ve got you covered. Keep scrolling for a full breakdown of Linktree and the best Linktree alternatives.
What is Linktree?
If you’ve ever clicked a link in someone’s Instagram profile or social media profile then you’ve likely encountered Linktree before (not to be confused with landing tree which, well, doesn’t exist!).
Linktree is a website that allows users to create a single landing page with links to their various social media and online platforms. This can be useful for people who want to consolidate their online presence into one easy-to-find location.
The link can be shared on websites, social media, or even through email signatures. When someone clicks on the link, they are taken to a page where they can choose which website they would like to visit.
If you’re monetising Tik Tok or have a big brand on Instagram, this is super helpful. If you want to have a bio link in place of a real website, it’s super helpful, too. It’s also an easy way to organise your service offerings as a business or even your portfolio, blog, and testimonials.
Likewise, Linktree is also a great way to track how many people are clicking on your links. With the basic version you can view visits and clicks, and with the paid version you gain access to more data. You can use this data to gauge interest in your website or online presence.
How Much Does Linktree Cost?
Creating a Linktree account is free, and there are both paid and free versions available. The paid version gives you access to additional features, such as custom branding and the ability to add links to PDFs and other files.
If you’re looking for a way to make it easy for people to find all of your online content in one place, the free version is probably more than enough for what you need.
However, if you’d like to create a custom landing page and access other premium features, you currently have three plan options to choose from: Starter, Pro, and Premium. The plans are priced at USD 5, $9, and $24 respectively.
Honestly, the jump from Pro to Premium is quite big in terms of monthly pricing for what you get. There’s not much difference between the two. However, there is somewhat of a difference between the Starter plan and the other two plans.
Linktree Customisation Options & Features
As mentioned above, the free version of Linktree is quite robust for users looking to simply host a few links in their Instagram or Twitter bio. However, let’s break down the customisation options and features of the various Linktree plans before diving into some Linktree alternatives.
Features of Linktree Free Version
With the free version (and all of the three paid plans) of Linktree, you get access to features such as:
- Unlimited links
- QR code
- Music links
- Podcasts links
- Twitter embed
- Contact forms
- NFT gallery
There are more features, but overall they’re the same. Expect to be able to upload links from various other social platforms. However, also expect that there will be a Linktree logo at the bottom of your landing page.
Features of Linktree Paid Versions
Upgrade to the Starter Linktree plan and get everything you get in the free version plus the ability to:
- Schedule links to go live at a certain time
- Spotlight a particularly important link
- Redirect users to a specific page
- Enhance the design of your page with animated styling
- Access more premium theme designs
- Edit button and font styles
However, that’s really about it. For $5 a month, you’re not getting much out of a paid plan. Upgrade to the Pro plan, though, and you’re able to do things like collect email addresses and phone numbers and gain access to better link analytics.
Overall, if you’re serious about using Linktree as a way to promote and monitor your business metrics online, it’s likely worth upgrading to the Pro plan. However, the difference between the Pro and Premium plans isn’t big enough to justify the price.
With the Premium plan (currently $24), you’re able to do everything you can with the Pro plan. The only additional features are the ability to export data and the ability to have a Customer Success Manager assigned to your account.
5 of The Best Linktree Alternatives
While Linktree is a great tool for promoting your content, there are other options available that may better suit your needs. Here are five of the best Linktree alternatives we’ve found that works great for Dubai business owners (in no particular order).
Linkin.bio is a, well, link in bio platform created by the social media planning company Later. While the platform initially started as a link in bio site specifically for Instagram, you’re now able to use links on both Instagram and TikTok.
Similar to Linktree, Linkin.bio allows you to create a simplified landing page where you host links that direct people to your service pages, latest blog posts, or wherever else you want. You can also sell products and track sales via your link analytics.
However, the way these links are set up is a bit different than it looks on Linktree.
With Linkin.bio, when someone clicks on your link, it brings them to a recreation of your Instagram feed. Each post is ideally tagged so that when they click on it, they’re taken to a page related to whatever was in that post.
For example, if you’re an Amazon UAE seller and you want to promote your products on your Instagram page, you can create a post for each product.
If you tag each post, whenever someone clicks on your Linkin.bio link, they’ll be able to easily click on the product and visit the corresponding Amazon page to make their purchase.
This makes Linkin.bio particularly great for eCommerce brands or online magazines looking to direct people to very specific links related to each post.
You can try any account associated with Later for free for 14 days. However, aside from that, there are no free Linkin.bio plans. The three paid plans are:
- Starter: $18/month
- Growth: $40/month
- Advanced: $80/month
With the Starter plan, you’re able to get one Social Set for one user plus 30 posts per social profile.
In this context, a Social Set is a set of accounts per brand. So, you’ll get one link for Instagram, one for Facebook, one for TikTok, one for LinkedIn, one for Twitter, and one for Pinterest.
You’re able to post up top 30 posts per each of those social accounts.
Upgrade to their Growth plan and you get three Social Sets for three users. Plus, you gain access to full customisation options and up to one year of full analytics. As they note on their website, this is the best option for growing teams.
For businesses that manage multiple brands, the Advanced plan might be a better fit. If you manage numerous different dropshipping companies, for example, upgrading to the Advanced plan is worth considering.
If you’re not interested in putting links in a landing page to sell products then ContactInBio is considered among most digital entrepreneurs to be one of the best Linktree alternatives.
Similar to Linktree, you get a micro landing page where you can put links, embed payment forms, and even highlight social posts. What sets ContactInBio apart from Linktree and other alternatives on this list?
You get to choose your landing page name! Well, sort of. You can choose from the following micro landing page name options:
While this isn’t 100% customisable, it does sort of hide the fact that you’re using a “link in bio” platform instead of a real website.
Likewise, where ContactInBio shines versus Linktree specifically is the ability to:
- Embed your online store and products
- Fully customise the width, colour, font, and overall style of your micro landing page
- Add smart messenger links (if you want them to be able to tap a button and easily start a chat with you on Whatsapp, for example).
Other than that, the native integration with Google Analytics is a great feature for those using their ContactInBio page as a fully integrated part of their business data and analytics.
This platform makes it easy to connect to Google Analytics. If you are relying on this data to help inform a marketing strategy then ContactInBio might be the best Linktree alternative for you.
How much do all of these great features cost? ContactInBio pricing plans are fair compared to what you get. The free version includes pretty much everything mentioned above. Their two other plans are as follows:
- Business: $4.55/month
- Agency: $18.20/month
However, the difference between the free and premium versions of ContactInBio is mainly that with a paid version, you’re able to connect your Facebook Pixel, integrate MailChimp, and further customise the look of your page.
Other features are included, but those are the main ones that make the biggest differences in terms of the upgrade. If you upgrade to the Agency plan, you won’t access any new features you will simply have the ability to manage up to five different accounts.
Ultimately, this agency option is interesting if you run a digital marketing business in Dubai or offer social media marketing services to multiple clients. However, if you don’t then the Business plan is more than enough!
If you’re interested in leads, conversions and ultimately sales then Taplink is worth checking out. Similar to Linktree and ContactInBio, you’re able to add links, embed payment forms, and even take orders online. However, Taplink feels somewhat more user-friendly in that you create different blocks of content for specific purposes.
This means that when you go to create your mini bio link landing page, you simply tap which type of block you’d like to add. Popular options include adding an image carousel, FAQ section, videos, messenger links, and of course links. Note that the option to add image carousels and videos isn’t standard in the basic versions of Linktree, so this is a definite plus!
Other premium features you can expect to enjoy with Taplink include the option to add time-sensitive offers that expire after a set period and the ability to take advantage of Taplink’s proprietary order management system. If you don’t currently have a CRM but want to sell items via social media then Taplink can handle those orders for you.
You’ll still need to register your business in the UAE and ensure you’re managing your invoices and taxes correctly. However, it’s a great way to easily manage sales online for those just getting started.
When it comes down to it, Taplink provides a lot of room for customisation. It’s a bit more comprehensive in terms of design than other bio link platforms on this list. If you want a professional-looking landing page that you can send to people on and off social media then take a look at Taplink to see if it’s right for your business.
With Taplink, you have one free plan and two paid premium options. The free plan includes:
- Unlimited links on your micro landing page
- Access to text blocks, headers, and Q&A blocks
- Pre-customised themes
- Page analytics and statistics
- Shared access for other members of your team
You can get all of that and more if you upgrade to the Pro or Business version. This is where pricing gets a bit interesting. Unlike other platforms on this list, if you pay for a full six months or a year, you receive discounts on your overall monthly pricing.
The Taplink paid plans work as follows:
- Pro: $6/month if you pay monthly; $4.20/month if you pay for six months; $3/month if you pay for a full year
- Business: $12/month if you pay monthly; $8.40/month if you pay for six months; $6/month if you pay for a full year
Is it worth upgrading? Honestly, yeah. If you plan on using your Taplink landing page as a mini website, it’s worth upgrading to one of their paid plans (especially considering they’re so cheap compared to other pricing plans on this list of Linktree alternatives).
Taplink Pro Plan Features
With the Pro plan, for example, you get access to:
- Scheduling options for displaying blocks on a timed schedule
- Analytics about link clicks
- Full design customisation
- Messaging app links
- Pictures, videos, HTML, and map blocks (nope, these aren’t included in the free version, unfortunately)
- The ability to connect your Facebook Pixel
If you’re serious about building a business and want the chance to have a fully-functioning mini website to promote, upgrading to the Pro plan is worth it. For bigger businesses looking to make the site their own, you can upgrade to the Business plan.
Taplink Business Plan Features
With Taplink’s Business plan, you can remove Taplink branding, capture leads with forms, get notifications sent to your messenger, accept payments, and access Taplink’s unique CRM system. You’ll have a built-in business management system and lead funnel. That’s quite helpful if you’re interested in scaling.
If you’ve already built your business and have a team of employees working for you then Shorby might be the best Linktree alternative for you. While the features and functions cater to businesses or agencies in need of managing multiple links and accounts, the fact that there is no free plan is what makes Shorby better suited for those with bigger budgets.
Aside from the ability to manage over 3,000 links with their most basic plan (again, it’s a paid plan as there is no free version available), you can expect features similar to every other option on this list. This includes the ability to add direct messenger buttons, customise the design of your link page, and connect to Google Analytics.
However, that’s all there is to Shorby. For a platform that doesn’t offer a free version, you’re honestly not getting much for what you’re paying for. Let’s dive into that pricing now though so you can make a better-informed decision.
Shorby pricing plans are structured into three options. With each option, you can pay monthly or annually. That pricing looks like this:
- Rocket: $15/month if you pay monthly; $12/month if you pay annually
- Pro: $29/month if you pay monthly; $24/month if you pay annually
- Agency: $99/month if you pay monthly; $89/month if you pay annually
As you can see, the discount is worth more for the more expensive plans. However, as mentioned above, there aren’t any features you get out of those more expensive plans that you can’t get out of ContactInBio or even Linkin.bio for much cheaper.
However, we will say that Shorby’s interface is quite easy to use. Additionally, if you sign up for Shorby Rewards, you can potentially earn $300 for each customer you send their way. So, it can be great for those interested in affiliate marketing.
Tap.Bio is a unique Linktree alternative in that the interface looks entirely different from every other option mentioned on this list. This means that if you’re particularly interested in the aesthetic of your bio link then this might be the best platform for you.
Unlike Linktree and every other alternative we’ve mentioned here, Tap.Bio doesn’t allow for vertical scrolling. Instead, you create cards and have users swipe left or right through them. In this sense, your links and information all look like they’ve been uploaded to a really cool Instagram Story.
Do note, however, that aside from the change in layout, there aren’t a lot of other customisation options with Tap.Bio. Unfortunately, you can’t change your font, font size, or colour.
Tap.Bio’s pricing is fairly straightforward. However, the free version doesn’t come with most of the basic features that other free versions of Linktree and Linktree alternatives come with. With Tap.Bio’s free plan, you get access to one profile card. This is great for those just testing out the platform, but you’ll eventually need more.
If that’s the case, you can upgrade to one of their paid plans:
- Silver: $3/month
- Gold: $8/month
- Platinum: Custom pricing for enterprise teams
With the Silver plan, you’ll have access to basic editing features and customisation options plus three cards. Need unlimited cards? Upgrade to the Gold version. Not only will you get unlimited cards but you’ll be able to remove the Tap.Bio branding and integrate your cards with both Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel.
